  19. The newest version I know about is 4.53/3.  The /3 simply means that the
  20. FREE SECTORS count is only 3 digits instead of 4.  This allows better
  21. compatibility with software that illegally checks for the end of directory.
  22. Most of the improvements from 4.50 to 4.53 seemed to be cosmetic but there
  23. were also improvements in RAM/drive configuration and you could chain
  24. AUTORUN files.  It has been a while since I have seriously used MyDOS though.

  26. I use SDX almost exclusively now, but MyDOS 4.53 is definitely my second choice,
  27. with SpartaDOS 3.2 being 3rd (and AtariDOS being a distant last :).  I have
  28. just acquired a second hard-drive so I am going to attempt to format a
  29. partition in MyDOS (bootable).  It should be interesting.

  31. I will attempt to upload this to the archives but it is rather trickey without
  32. FTP.  But... We just got new software on our system that *should* 
  33. automatically UUencode.  I'll have to give it a try....
