- IIGIF will handle any filetype. I usually make all non-Apple-specific
- files type $00/$0000 (no filetype) when they enter my system. This
- applies not only to GIFs, but to ZIPs and any other file not specific
- to the Apple II. Defining a filetype for non-Apple-specific files is,
- IMHO, a Very Bad Idea (TM). You'll end up running into the same
- problems as the Mac-heads who always have to twiddle the filetypes on
- GIFs they download so that their viewers will load the files.
