-
- Pass. I'm using Apple's external SuperDrive with mine, and don't know
- if any third-party external Mac drives will work.
-

-
- Yes. I've discovered a couple of disks that seem to have errors when
- read in the SuperDrive, but not in a normal drive. They're rather old
- disks, though.
-
- > (3) WIll it read existing 800K HFS disks?
-
- Yes, as well as 1.44MB ones.
-
- > (4) Will it read existing 720K IBM disks (perhaps via MS-DOS FST)?
-
- Yes, but it can't format them (for some reason the option to format
- 720k is provided in the list, but has been dimmed).
-
- I've used it from my PC Transporter to read and write 720k and 1.44MB
- MS-DOS disks. I can't format 720k disks, but 1.44 ones work
- beautifully.
-
-
- One problem is that some software (including FTA stuff) expects that
- you're using the built-in drive port, and won't work with the
- SuperDrive. My solution was to put the SuperDrive card into slot 6,
- and keep my old 3.5" drive connected to the IIgs's built-in drive port.
-
- Anything using ProDOS-8, ProDOS-16 or GS/OS should be fine.
-
- I haven't tried using 400k disks with the SuperDrive (I don't have very
- many!)
