- I have to agree here. We rarely hear anything new. The only info
- I have seen has been non-disclosure documents. With EISA, local bus
- video, DX2, 50Mhz 486DX, SVGA, it seems that we are really falling
- behind the times here. If at LEAST Commodore were to announce some
- kind of information as to what they are working on, it might not be
- so bad. Give people some incentive to wait for the new Amiga model
- to come out, rather than keep us in the dark and cause so many to
- give up on Amiga with the purchase of their 486.
-
- The Commodore engineers have done some fantastic work. We still rely
- on 7 year old technology, but it still (almost) keeps up with other
- machines (MAC, IBM). Maybe the developnemt department needs more
- funding and less $$$ for the executives. I heard somewhere that
- Japanese companies spend like 2 or 3 times the amount on research than
- we do. Maybe it's just a typical American company attitude
- (even I know Commodore is based in Europe).
-
- What new Amiga models can we expect? An 040 3000 and 3000 tower
- doesen't impress me. We can do that with 3rd party accelerators.
- How about a time based scheme like Apple's "Quicktime". Amiga is
- touted the "Multimedia Machine", but out here at the Space Center
- in FL macs are used everywhere. Please commodore, come out with
- something I can honestly say is worth having people (as well as
- companies) invest in Amiga.
