- Got my 44m external SyQuest the other day, and proceeded with installation
- instructions. I set the SCSI ID to 1, connected all the cables to my
- GVP series II 500+ HD, and flicked on power. As soon as the status screens
- passed, I got a requestor saying "gvpscsi.device 0000 - Unexpected Status
- $49/$46", which also had a continue button. After hitting this button
- (several times, this requestor came up frequently (and randomly) during this)
- the computer checked for drives, and then requested a boot disk. (my GVP hd
- is the normal bootdisk). I insert a wb disk, and once the startup was
- complete, the GVP hd was not present on the WB. I took out my GVP FaaasstPrep
- software, and it reconginized the existance of the GVP hd and of the SyQuest.
- I was able to format and install bootblocks on the Syquest, and on the next
- reboot, it booted off the SyQuest.
- I turned off the SyQuest: same initial problem, booted off floppy.
- I unplugged the SCSI connector from the GVP: no problem, booted as normal.
-
- I am stuck! I've done everything but remove the terminating resistors
- and nothing works!
-
- System: 500, GVP sII 500+, 1/2chip,1/2fast,4fast, SyQuest 44m (external case
- from Compubility).
