- Null modem cables are very easy to make, You're halfway there
- already. What you need are some handshake lines. The most
- effective cable would be wired as such:
-
- 2-3
- 3-2
- 4-5
- 5-4
- 6-20
- 20-6
- 7-7
- shield-shield
-
- Commonly referred to as a 7 wire Null Modem cable.
- Pins 4 and 5, 6 and 20 offer the necessary handshaking to prevent
- buffer overflows, with 4 and 5 being the most popular HS lines and
- 6 and 20 used for more elaborate programs such as Twin Express.
-
- I have a seven wire cable going from my Amiga to My I*M and get
- transfer rates of 19,300 BYTES / Second (not BITS / second).
- The effective baud rate is 115K Baud.
