  20. For me, the impressiveness of this card is in its ability to output
  21. both PAL and NTSC video, and in the price which seems to start
  22. around $2K and go as high as $6K.

  24. I am also drooling over the program memroy onboard and wonder if
  25. DMI is going to release a cross compiler and development system for
  26. it.  This card is a Toaster Killer, if not an SGI killer.  The
  27. comparisons to SGI were probably there more to show the way prices
  28. of popular graphics engines go into the tens of thousands very
  29. easily.

  31. I would rather develop an Amiga 4000 with the DMI board than an
  32. IRIX system, anyway.  And this card offers the promise of video
  33. utilities that can run in either NTSC or PAL environments, and
  34. reletively high speed graphics rendering at 24-bits.

  36. Think about the possibilities of a $10 - $12 thousand Amiga system
  37. that can compete toe-to-toe with Mac and Pee Sea systems at the
  38. same price and WHIP THEM in terms of functionability and quality of
  39. software.  In this sense, the Vivid offers more promise than the
  40. Toaster ever will.
