  12. A co-worker of mine made an interesting statement. He said that Cobol is the 
  13. most widely used language today. I said that it was probably due to vast 
  14. number of older systems in existance (i.e. many developers are using it for
  15. maintenance). His response was that he thought it was the most widely used
  16. language for new developement as well.

  18. I find this pretty hard to believe. Does anyone have stats on the current
  19. usage of languages?
