  14. A bunch of conspirators have sent me data for the authspeed
  15. program on several hotshot workstations. The results follow below.
  16. Perhaps I should have leveled the playing field by asking all
  17. players to use the native system compiler and default optimization.
  18. Anyway, the data are sorted by DES speed just because I didn't
  19. think of anything more clever. The performance differences of
  20. DES relative to MD5 on some machines is interesting. I'm sure this
  21. will interest the architects among us.
