  14. Since the MD5/4.4BSD mods have stabilized, I have deleted all the prior
  15. stuff and established the latest "official" (?) distribution of
  16. xntp3.tar.Z under that name. This has a couple of minor patches,
  17. including one that affected WWVB driver support (refclock_wwvb.c)
  18. and others found necessary for multi-architecture/OS portability.
  19. This establishes a new baseline for patches, a new batch of which
  20. have been threatened by people cleaning up their code, removing
  21. deadwood and other campground policing.

  23. For those using the "prefer" keyword announced previously, a minor
  24. change in behavior results in the selected peer "sticking" to the
  25. preferred peer at all times this peer is included in the final
  26. candidate list and is at the lowest stratum in this list. This reduces
  27. incidental clockhopping in cases where a number of highly accurate,
  28. low jitter peers compete for selection. Use this with GPS receivers
  29. and FDDI media.

  32. that coo with each other over Ethernet with 2.1 ms roundtrip delays.
