  11. Here's my setup: We have a mix of Macs and PCs running over a Farrallon
  12. Phonenet (StarController) with Locatalk. We are connected to a Ethernet
  13. backbone through a Shiva FastPath. The Macs have no trouble communicating
  14. through the FastPath using MacTCP. However, I am having a tough time
  15. trying to get the PCs to do the same.

  17. I have a Farrallon Localtalk card in the IBM PC, and have installed the
  18. UC Davis localtalk driver along with Farrallon software (LSL, ATALK,
  19. LTALKP, COMPAT) and the KA9Q packet driver (LTALKNOS). So far everything
  20. is happy. When I try to ping the PC from a Unixbox on the Ethernet side
  21. of the FastPath, the PC claims it gets the packets and responds. But the
  22. Unixbox claims to never get a response. A Locatalk network traffic program
  23. says the packets are indeed going back and forth.

  25. Also, when I try to ping the Unixbox or a Mac from the IBMPC, *it* never
  26. gets a response. As a matter of fact, the Localtalk network program sees
  27. *no* packets coming to or from the PC.

  29. Anyone have any suggestions for where I should look? I'm at home now
  30. but can get my hands on more technical info back at the office if anyone
  31. would like to communicate with me further. Thanks in advance!
