- I have a SWAN 486-50DX2 local bus (ISA) system with
- Ultrastor 12F controller and Micropolis 1664 340mb ESDI HD.
- The OS/2 2.0 system had worked fine until I added
- Adaptec 1542B SCSI controller and Micropolis 1624 660mb SCSI HD.
- The symptom is that the system hangs frequently in wordperfect, kermit,
- etc. Once it happens, keyboard stucks and even Ctr-Alt-Del magic
- sequence does not work -- Only hard reset works.
- This is what I did: (I did not reinstall OS/2 which is still on ESDI
- HPFS partition)
- (1) I disabled floppy on 1542B. Two floppy drives are connected
- to the motherboard. Other than that, I use the default
- configuration of 1542B.
- (2) I disabled all shadow ram.
- (3) "BASEDEV=AHA154X.ADD" is added to config.sys. (obtained from Hobbes)
- (4) I checked IRQ conflicts using MSD[dos] obtained from Hobbes.
- The new SCSI HD is partitioned by OS/2 FDISKPM into 2 logical partitions and
- formated as HPFS.

- Do I miss something? Any advices? Many many thanks!!!!!
