  11. I have a SWAN 486-50DX2 local bus (ISA) system with
  12.     Ultrastor 12F controller and Micropolis 1664 340mb ESDI HD.
  13. The OS/2 2.0 system had worked fine until I added
  14.     Adaptec 1542B SCSI controller and Micropolis 1624 660mb SCSI HD.
  15. The symptom is that the system hangs frequently in wordperfect, kermit,
  16. etc.  Once it happens, keyboard stucks and even Ctr-Alt-Del magic
  17. sequence does not work -- Only hard reset works.
  18. This is what I did: (I did not reinstall OS/2 which is still on ESDI
  19. HPFS partition)
  20.    (1) I disabled floppy on 1542B.  Two floppy drives are connected
  21.        to the motherboard.  Other than that, I use the default
  22.        configuration of 1542B.
  23.    (2) I disabled all shadow ram.
  24.    (3) "BASEDEV=AHA154X.ADD" is added to config.sys. (obtained from Hobbes)
  25.    (4) I checked IRQ conflicts using MSD[dos] obtained from Hobbes.
  26. The new SCSI HD is partitioned by OS/2 FDISKPM into 2 logical partitions and
  27. formated as HPFS.
