- Could you please elaborate on the 35Mb for the HPFS boot you
- plan on using? My questions are as follows:
-
- If OS/2 has problems, will you just be able to reinstall for that
- 35Mb, and everything else is okay? What other advantages does this
- have? You mentioned patches for OS/2. Does this make installing the
- patches more convienient?
-
- What problems arise with the coexistance of FAT and HPFS? If
- I run my compiler (which is on FAT) from within the WPS (which is on
- HPFS) will I encounter problems? I know that the extended attributes
- that are in HPFS cannot be coppied to FAT, but are there any more subtle
- things I should know?
-
- Can I back up the HPFS partitions onto FAT floppies? Or do I
- need to format them for HPFS? If I copy a file from the HD to a FAT
- floppy will OS/2 know that it is just FAT? (This should be just like
- copying from the HPFS partition to the FAT, but I want to be sure.)
-
- How hard is it to install the HPFS? It is supposed to be
- and "intallable file system." Do I have to reformat my entire
- hard drive? Reinstall OS/2 from scratch? Stand on my head?
-
- I know that these are a bunch of questions, but I'm thinking
- of doing the HPFS thing and I want to know the costs before I
- jump in. Any help you wish to give is greatly appreciated! 8-)
