- Hi! I just got myself a Quantum Pro 105. It is the third HD in my system, and
- runs off of an Adaptec 1542B. Since DOG can't handle more than two drives,
- I formatted this thing as HPFS, b/c it's pointless to make it FAT. Now that
- I've copied some of my programs to E:, like 3dmaze, Quattro Pro 3 and some
- other stuff cluttering my C:, I've found that disk accesses take much
- longer, like two or 3 times longer [for seeks] than under FAT. Am I doing
- something wrong, or does HPFS have slow access but fast transfer? I haven't
- noticed any real increase in transfer speed.
-
- Any help, pointers, CONFIG.SYS lines, etc will be most appreciated.

- Regards,
