  12. I recently found it necessary to reinstall OS2 V2 on the following system:
  13.     
  14.     486/33 with 8MB RAM & 200MB IDE HD, AMI BIOS.
  15.  
  16. First, the original OS2 V2 was deinstalled by:
  17.  
  18. 1. Removing these directories:  "OS2", "OS!2_2.0_D", "SPOOL", and "PSFONTS".
  19.  
  20. 2. Deleting hidden files: "EA DATA. SF", "WP ROOT. SF", "OS2BOOT",
  21.                "OS2KRNL", and "OS2LDR".
  22.  
  23. 3. Restoring AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
  24.  
  25. I reinstalled the DUAL BOOT configuration and have had 3 proplems ever
  26. since:

  28. 1. Whenever I attempt to start a DOS application from a DOS WINDOW or
  29. DOS FULL SCREEN I get the following error:

  31.             SYS005  (some kind of protection error)
  32.  
  33. 2. All icons for migrated MS Windows applications in the Windows folder
  34. look alike -- like windows.  Although they were migrated from MSW 3.1,
  35. and hence won't run, in my previous OS2 installation they maintained their
  36. regular Windows icon appearance (e.g. Calc looked like a calculator).
  37.  
  38. 3. When I try to run Windows applications that worked in the previous
  39. OS2 installation (e.g. Clock), I get this error (related to 1. above?)
  40.  
  41.             DOS error 5
  42.
