- I just purchased a parallel printer adapter so that I could use my second
- printer. Unfortunately, the IRQ assignment for this card is fixed at
- IRQ 7. So, I enabled IRQ 5 on my I/O card (which, by default, is set to
- lpt2) by disabling IRQ7 and set the I/O address on the adapter to lpt1.
-
- I hooked up both printers, made sure the appropriate drivers were install-
- ed, and began some testing. The printer on lpt1 functions properly; however,
- when I try to print a file on the other printer, the process times out and I
- get a "Printer not responding!" message.
-
- Both ports work through DOS 5.0, so perhaps I'm doing something incorrectly.
- Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
- Mark K
