  12. I just purchased a parallel printer adapter so that I could use my second
  13. printer.  Unfortunately, the IRQ assignment for this card is fixed at
  14. IRQ 7.  So, I enabled IRQ 5 on my I/O card (which, by default, is set to
  15. lpt2) by disabling IRQ7 and set the I/O address on the adapter to lpt1.

  17. I hooked up both printers, made sure the appropriate drivers were install-
  18. ed, and began some testing.  The printer on lpt1 functions properly; however,
  19. when I try to print a file on the other printer, the process times out and I
  20. get a "Printer not responding!" message.

  22. Both ports work through DOS 5.0, so perhaps I'm doing something incorrectly.
  23. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
