- In a previous article, Chris Hand requested the whereabouts of an Oak
- 640x480x16 video driver, and I seconded it. I have since received other
- similar requests by email. To summarize: file 67_win31.zip is available at:
-
- wuarchive.wustl.edu /mirrors2/win3/drivers/video and
- ftp.cica.indiana.edu /pub/pc/win3/drivers/video (I think).
-
- However it does not contain the x16 driver. I have found that the standard
- VGA driver supplied with WIN31 works perfectly. In my case, the mouse was
- disabled in a DOS window. Following an earlier thread, I suspected the video
- driver to be out of date. In fact, at installation WIN31 did not update my
- MOUSE driver. I did it manually as follows:
-
- From Disk #4: EXTRACT A:MOUSE.SY_ C:\WINDOWS\MOUSE.SYS or
- EXTRACT A:MOUSE.CO_ C:\WINDOWS\MOUSE.COM
-
- with appropriate changes in CONFIG or AUTOEXEC as required. And voila!
-
- Many thanks to those who wrote. All the best. Damien
