  13. I loaded NT on a system with an NE3200 card.  The initial installation
  14. didn't seem to mind it and everything seemed to work fine.  However, when
  15. I tried to start network services I got a server error message like this:

  17. -Server Error 2008 
  18. -The server couldn't not (sic) open a mailslot. Server alerts are disabled.
  19.  
  20. While perusing the event log I found these other error messages which I believe
  21. are related to the Server Error.

  23. -CPISetup reported the following error (1073) while setting up NE3200
  24.  
  25. and
  26.  
  27. -The description for event id (2018) in source (computer_name) could not be
  28. -found.  It contains the following instertion string(s). NE320001
  29.  
  30. This message seemed to think that the computer was named NE320001 and the
  31. network card was named "test" which is the label I applied to the computer.
  32.  
  33. I don't believe that I did anything out of the ordinary in setting things up.
  34. Does anyone out there have a clue as to what's going on?
