- I loaded NT on a system with an NE3200 card. The initial installation
- didn't seem to mind it and everything seemed to work fine. However, when
- I tried to start network services I got a server error message like this:
-
- -Server Error 2008
- -The server couldn't not (sic) open a mailslot. Server alerts are disabled.
-
- While perusing the event log I found these other error messages which I believe
- are related to the Server Error.
-
- -CPISetup reported the following error (1073) while setting up NE3200
-
- and
-
- -The description for event id (2018) in source (computer_name) could not be
- -found. It contains the following instertion string(s). NE320001
-
- This message seemed to think that the computer was named NE320001 and the
- network card was named "test" which is the label I applied to the computer.
-
- I don't believe that I did anything out of the ordinary in setting things up.
- Does anyone out there have a clue as to what's going on?
-
- Thanks in advance.
