  36. I have not had any problems with reduction in color information with this
  37. conversion.  When you choose Save, do you just specify the name as
  38. xyz.BMP or do you click on the 'Format >>' button?  If you do the latter
  39. you will get a dialog box that will enable you to select the format and
  40. if it is BMP then then number of bits for color.  Make sure that you select
  41. '8 bmp' for 256 colors.
