  28. Bottom line:
  29. Windows 3.0 punches itself in the face *hard* when used with SMARTDRV.EXE. 
  30. Apparently, it presumes that write caching can't be disabled and corrupts the 
  31. PROGMAN and .GRP files on exiting. Applications also wind up with invalid .INF 
  32. files on re-booting Windows.

  34. The odd thing is that, during the session, it runs great!
