-
- A gradebook program is a specialized database used by teachers to maintain
- lists of assignments and grades. For example, suppose my wife teaches
- three sections of English and two sections of Advanced English. At
- the start of the term, she enters in a list of the students names.
- Each time she grades an assignment, she enters the grades into the database.
- The program can then do all sorts of useful things such as compute averages,
- print interim or final grade reports, and so forth. Flexibility is
- very important, since often one needs to compute various kinds of weighted
- averages, drop the lowest grade, or ignore certain assignments.
