- I can't really help you with this, but I'm thinking of setting up a minix
- partition on my hard disk, and I currently have 3 partitions, the boot
- manager, DOS 5.0, and a HPFS partition. Firstly, if I delete one partition and
- add two new partitions (eg turn the DOS 5.0 partition into a DOS 5.0 and minix
- partition), presumably this won't affect the data in the HPFS partition?
- Secondly, can the boot manager handle booting minix (I assume so?).
-
- Another question, I'm currently have a very old version of minix (v1.1) which
- only runs on IBM XTs (not clones). I also have the upgrades to upgrade from
- v1.1 to v1.5. If I upgrade on the XT, does this mean I'll be able to run them
- off a 386/486 now? (ie does upgrading to v1.5 mean it will now work on a 486
- even though it's a clone).
