  13. I'm shopping for a CD-ROM drive for a AT-bus 386.
  14. What are the good alternatives?  The major objectives of interest
  15. are:

  17. 1. Linux on CD-ROM
  18. 2. Other Unix source code CD-ROMs
  19. 3. Kodak Photo CD
  20. 4. USGS or CIA map databases
  21. 5. Some PC CD-ROMs like those produced by National Geographic, etc.

  23. I would prefer an external drive, because that frees me in
  24. terms of hooking it up to non-PC computers.

  26. What do you recommend?  I would prefer a low-end cheap drive, since
  27. speed is not important.
