  23. I get the exact same problem with my ET4000 (Swan Palette Plus card,
  24. with the variable oscillator and a HiColor chip), but ONLY IN SVGA TEXT
  25. MODES.  The card drops back to 80x25 just fine.  Except I never use
  26. 80x25 any more, but the 132x60 mode that I discovered my card supports...
  27. *nothing* understands that mode without being taught it.  But it does
  28. this in 132x44 mode, which Linux *does* know about by default.
  29. Is Linux automatically resetting the crystal to one that syncs in the
  30. 80-col. text modes, rather than setting it to whatever it was coming in?
