- I get the exact same problem with my ET4000 (Swan Palette Plus card,
- with the variable oscillator and a HiColor chip), but ONLY IN SVGA TEXT
- MODES. The card drops back to 80x25 just fine. Except I never use
- 80x25 any more, but the 132x60 mode that I discovered my card supports...
- *nothing* understands that mode without being taught it. But it does
- this in 132x44 mode, which Linux *does* know about by default.
- Is Linux automatically resetting the crystal to one that syncs in the
- 80-col. text modes, rather than setting it to whatever it was coming in?
