- Hello, everyone.
- I'm currently working on getting xditview to work with Linux. The reason for
- this is that I don't want to keep all those TeX fonts around when I already
- have the regular X11 fonts installed. Besides, I'm used to xditview on our
- machines over here.
- The problem I'm having is that groff is looking for some macro file
- named 'X'. The command I'm using is 'groff -TX75 xditview.man >xditview.dit'
- to format the xditview man page, as a test. I made the appropriate subdir
- in the groff font subdir for X75, and ran xtotroff to create the DESC files,
- etc. xditview (actually renamed gxditview because that's what groff looks
- for) pops up a very familiar window up on the screen, but groff doesn't put
- anything in it because it can't find 'X':
- 'gtroff: fatal error: can't find macro file X'
- If anyone out there who has some experience installing this stuff knows
- what's going on, please drop me a line.
