  12. After about an hour of trying to install GCC2.2.2d I really
  13. wish that the install script was as simple as it once was
  14. (then it only took ten minutes to install).  But, even
  15. though I had all of the files required, in the correct
  16. from (something I never found in the README, the FAQ, or
  17. the release notes -- but I could have missed it) many
  18. (OK at least three) files seem to be missing and I cannot
  19. get it installed.

  21. The missing files are
  22.         /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.2.2d/shared/libhard.a
  23. (I took care of this with a hard link to libm.a which did exist)
  24.         libc.so.2.2
  25.         libhard.so.2.2
  26.  
  27. Apparently I will be unable to finish the installation until I get
  28. these files.  Where, praytell, are they??  And also, (this is directed
  29. to HJ) where is the new binutils.tar.Z?  As of 1:00 pm EDT August 16
  30. it was nowhere to be found although the sources were on tsx-11.
