  10. On a conference on DCS and DECUServe, a DECUS leader has begun a topic
  11. discussing charging a fee for membership in DECUS.  It sounds like a proposal
  12. is gelling to have two types of member, a "full" and an "associate", where the
  13. "full" gets things like DECUScope, can vote, etc. and pays the membership fee,
  14. while an "associate" only gets notification of symposium and other such revenue
  15. generating DECUS products.  This appears to be a cost-cutting proposal (and
  16. tree saving), as it seems to be expensive to mail EVERYTHING to all 50,000 US
  17. members but only have a small percentage actually care.
