- Gak! I would like to know how THAT one got started! Anyway, I DO have a
- reference handy (New York Public Library Desk Reference) and it says:
-
- Ockham's razor A principle attributed to the fourteenth-century English
- philosopher William of Ockham. It states that entities should not be
- multiplied beyond necessity, or that one should choose the simplest
- explanation, the one requiring the fewest assumptions and principles.
-
- I wonder how "Mr. Occam" would feel about the multiplication of entities
- concerning his principle.
