  17. Use VIP, the vi emulator.  VIP 3.5 is part of the standard
  18. Emacs distribution, but I recommend VIP 4.2, which is the
  19. result of Aamod Sane's extensive revisions last year.  It's
  20. available for anonymous ftp from cs.uiuc.edu.

  22. I've been using GNU Emacs + VIP for three years with a fair
  23. degree of satisfaction.  It combines the power and
  24. extensibility of Emacs with vi's speed of editing.
