- My uncle bought a complete system with modem last month. It is a 386 clone
- runningdos 5.0 with vga etc... it has a 2400 modem internal. The machine
- was soughtto do telemarketing. He has the latest version of lotus and some
- generic software to run the modem.
-
- It didn't work for him, ie the modem acts dead. So instead of paying $40 per
- hour to have some guy look at it he called me. I went over and tinkered with
- it and could not get the modem to respond to a simple atz command. I tried com
- ports one and two to no avail (three and four don't exist on his system). He
- does not have a mouse or printer on the machine. I would like to get his thing
- going but have hit a wall I don't know how to climb. Help!
-
- What things should I probe at? What info is needed to continue? What ftp
- software can help? What kind of hardware is needed to have the computer
- simulate a voice over the phone?
-
- Please help me do this favor.
-
- Thank you in advance, Tom Coleman colemant@yvax.byu.edu
