- Make sure your cable supports hardware flow control (CTS/RTS). I had
- a bad cable (if I recall correctly, the CTS signal was open), and when
- I tried to send a file, I observed behavior similar to what you
- described.

- This did not affect downloads (my 386 clone is fast enough to keep
- up).
