- I bought a U.S. Robotics some years ago and it acted weird when it
- heard certain sounds but I was able to get it to run by keeping the
- X level down so it didn't try to do anything fancy like listen for a
- dial tone.

- Also, while some modem manufacturers claim that the problems
- problems to do with their modems are due to different telcos, other
- modems work well here. Hopefully somebody will reply from Malaysia
- and you can find out what brand works OK there.
