  13. Thanks for all who replied.  I found my answer after many days of
  14. frustration.

  16. The sysop at USC remote location told me to turn off MNP and then
  17. try the upload.  Well It worked.  I can use MNP and V.42bis on other
  18. machines without problems,  it's just the remote I connect to for Internet.

  20. I do have many other questions, and I hope you all will be as friendly as
  21. you were in answering my upload problem.

  23. Question #1  UART's -  So I've found out that my serial port UART is
  24. a 8250A.  I hear that the 16550 will help speed up my file transfers.
  25. I have contacted several computer stores,  some say they don't have one,
  26. others say what ? Huh?  I live in L.A. and want to know where can I
  27. find the 16550 UART that I can plug into my serial port ?

  29. Question #2  Terminal problems -  Ever since I switched to Procomm Plus 2.01
  30. My backspace key doesn't want to work.  The backspace key is mapped to ^H,
  31. the correct spec, but that is what I get on the screen ^H's instead of
  32. backspacing.  I must depress the CTRL key along with the backspace for it
  33. to work properly.  What's going on.  My logon says I'm using ANSI-VT100 Clone,
  34. Before It used to say ANSI-VT100, no Clone.  Do I change the terminal emulation
  35. through the remote or through Procomm Plus, and if Procomm, to what setting.
  36. I've tried several.
