- Thanks for all who replied. I found my answer after many days of
- frustration.
-
- The sysop at USC remote location told me to turn off MNP and then
- try the upload. Well It worked. I can use MNP and V.42bis on other
- machines without problems, it's just the remote I connect to for Internet.
-
- I do have many other questions, and I hope you all will be as friendly as
- you were in answering my upload problem.
-
- Question #1 UART's - So I've found out that my serial port UART is
- a 8250A. I hear that the 16550 will help speed up my file transfers.
- I have contacted several computer stores, some say they don't have one,
- others say what ? Huh? I live in L.A. and want to know where can I
- find the 16550 UART that I can plug into my serial port ?
-
- Question #2 Terminal problems - Ever since I switched to Procomm Plus 2.01
- My backspace key doesn't want to work. The backspace key is mapped to ^H,
- the correct spec, but that is what I get on the screen ^H's instead of
- backspacing. I must depress the CTRL key along with the backspace for it
- to work properly. What's going on. My logon says I'm using ANSI-VT100 Clone,
- Before It used to say ANSI-VT100, no Clone. Do I change the terminal emulation
- through the remote or through Procomm Plus, and if Procomm, to what setting.
- I've tried several.
-
- Again, thanks to everyone who helped me on my previous question.
