- I am looking for any info on a FAX/MODEM/Switch made by Radio Shack.
- It's a DUOFONE AFX-60. We're trying to use it in conjunction with a
- BBS. There is one phone line. On this phone line is a modem and an
- anwering machine. The modem is FAX-capable, but is being used solely
- as a modem for a BBS.
-
- Here's where I need help. We are having a hard time getting the
- switch to *NOT* activate the answering machine when it's a modem call.
- The modem and BBS software is setup to answer on the first ring:
-
- ATS0=1.
-
- The BBS software is Telegard (Can't remember the version). So... I
- call our BBS, the modem bypasses the switch, and starts sending modem
- signals. Meanwhile, the switch is sending me RING's and after 4 rings
- the answering machine kicks in. ARGH!!!!
-
- Help! Anything: 1. Get another switch from a REAL company.
- 2. Inform me how to properly use the switch.
- 3. Suggestions on what to try next.
- 4. Has anybody had any success with these switches?
-
-
- Disclaimer:
- I speak for myself, not *any* organization. For this post at least.
