  27.   Attached to my Sparcstation 2 is a Microcom QX/V.32c modem.  I can
  28. use tip and kermit to dial out and the modem deftly handles dialins.  I
  29. successfully configured and regularly execute uucp for file transfers,
  30. but not news and mail.

  32.  Your problem sounds like something other than a modem problem.  Check
  33. Permissions, the account shell on the remote system, etc.  And get back
  34. to us with a more specific description of the failures.  Asking in one
  35. fo the Sun newsgroups may get you quicker results, since the problem
  36. seems to be with the uucp configuration rather than with the modem setup.
