- I'm having problems getting my modem to work in auto-answer mode. I've
- tried to configure it to answer, but sometimes it doesn't answer correctly.
- It's an 1200 baud, Hayes compatible command set modem (I've worked w/
- 3 an Avatech E, Avatech HC, and Zoom). The answering modem is connected to
- a serial device which does no hardware handshaking, i.e., Tx, Rx, & Ground
- are the only pins used by the serial device.
-
- When I call it up (w/ another 1200 baud modem), it usually answers with its
- answer tone, but sometimes it picks up the line & then I hear a dial tone as
- if it's picking up the line in originate mode. It's very weird.
-
- There are all sorts of configurations that I've tried (on both ends) to no
- avail, setting the S registers to wait for carrier tones, ignoring DSR,
- etc.. I think that I just don't have the correct settings & I'd really like
- some help.
-
- Thanks very much in advance.
