  23. MNP5  could  make  it  larger,  not  V42bis. The difference is
  24. that  V42bis  compresses  a packet, compares it to the size of
  25. the  uncompressed  packet,  and  sends  the  smaller, hence no
  26. loss of speed on precompressed files.
