- HELP!!!!!!!!
-
-
-
- I am in great need of the proper INIT codes & fossil driver
-
- parameters to correctly configure a ZOOM 14.4 modem/fax to work on
-
- a Remote Access 1.11+ Bulletin Board. Nothing I have done so far
-
- has worked!
-
-
-
- Initially I installed the modem & set all of my settings
-
- within RA to 38400. Using the basic Init codes that are supplied
-
- with the bbs the following occurred: (1) We could not get a 14.4
-
- connection to work at all. When a 14.4 modem called in we got a
-
- connect message on both ends but nothing would happen after that.
-
- Both ends would just sit idle after the connect message.
-
-
-
- (2) When a 2400bps modem would call in the modem attached to
-
- the bbs echoed a connect of 38400(why not 2400?). After the 2400bps
-
- connection was established we noticed mysterious distortions of our
-
- bbs menus. At first we thought it was only line noise but the
-
- distortions(i.e broken lines, etc) were happening in the same
-
- places all of the time. I figured that the problem was that for
-
- some reason the bbs thought it had a connection of 38400 and was
-
- sending the data at 38400 but the modem on the other end could not
-
- keep pace and therefore the distortion was occurring because the
-
- two modems were "out of sync". To alleviate this problem I
-
- consulted the ZOOM manual and came up with the following INIT
-
- string: "AT&F&C1&D2E0X4\N1\G0%M0Q080S0=MO". This init string solved
-
- my mysterious distortion problem. 2400 & 1200 callers were able to
-
- call with no problems & the BBS modem properly said "connect 2400
-
- or 1200". BUT when I called with the 14.4 again STILL NO RESPONSE
-
- the connection was established at 38400 but the result was the same
-
- as before.
-
-
-
- PLEASE if you have any experience with Remote Access, the X00
-
- fossil driver, ZOOM 14.4, any Hayes compatible, or have any ideas
-
- that might help please send me EMAIL. My address is:
-
- domenic@brahms.udel.edu or on prodigy HXDK93A. Thanks in advance
-
- for your help!
