  12. It looks like this is the closest NG that I could find to
  13. request information about the location of a database.
  14.  
  15. I am looking for a database that contains the latitude and
  16. longitude for the major, and possibly minor, cities and towns for
  17. the entire globe.  I have the World Data Bank II dataset and
  18. I could not find a dataset with lat/lon's for anything but a few
  19. cities.  I've looked in numerious ftp sites, used the new.answers
  20. ftp list, etc., all in vain.

  22. Also, if I could contact the Government agency that distributes
  23. the World Map data set, which I found on ftp.uu.net, they either
  24. have it or can direct me to where it is.  Name/Phone/Dept ... whatever.
