- It looks like this is the closest NG that I could find to
- request information about the location of a database.

- I am looking for a database that contains the latitude and
- longitude for the major, and possibly minor, cities and towns for
- the entire globe. I have the World Data Bank II dataset and
- I could not find a dataset with lat/lon's for anything but a few
- cities. I've looked in numerious ftp sites, used the new.answers
- ftp list, etc., all in vain.

- Also, if I could contact the Government agency that distributes
- the World Map data set, which I found on ftp.uu.net, they either
- have it or can direct me to where it is. Name/Phone/Dept ... whatever.
