- Hi, experts...
-
- I would like some opinions about which type of simple/fast/not_too_effective
- algorithm i should use to compress information transfered over a modem!
-
- I have two cases:
- 1. A normal telephone modem and 8 bit code
- 2. A radio communications modem (7 bit code, 32...127) with reserved code
- sequences (at least "+?"=change over).
-
- The information will be transfered, i.e. one row (80 char) at a time but
- possibly it is possibly to send every character/word separately or will
- that lower the compression?
-
- And remember that i have very little knowledge about compression (i have
- read about LZW :) ). Please reply by mail--i can post a summary here later.
- Thanks!
