  19. This workshop is the third in a series dedicated to bringing together the
  20. South African pattern recognition community.  All researchers, users and
  21. implementors interested in pattern recognition are invited to attend.

  24. Call for Papers

  26. Papers and posters are solicited on all topics related to pattern
  27. recognition, including, but not limited to:
  28.  
  29.                          o Pattern Recognition Theory o
  30.                         o Image and Signal Processing o
  31.                      o Pattern Recognition Applications o
  32.             o The Implementation of Pattern Recognition Systems o
  33.                               o Neural Networks o
  34.                        o Geophysics and Remote Sensing o
  35.                               o Computer Vision o
  36.                 o Medical Applications of Pattern Recognition o

  38. An author may submit a paper by mailing an abstract of no more than 300
  39. words to Pieter Vermeulen (address below).  Submission by electronic mail is
  40. also acceptable.  The deadline for submissions is 30 September 1992.  Full
  41. camera ready papers are to be submitted at the workshop.  Authors will be
  42. notified whether their papers have been accepted by 12 October 1992.  Please
  43. indicate oral or poster presentation preference.
  44. Papers will be presented as posters or orally.  Posters are limited to one
  45. A2 page.  Fifteen minutes will be allowed for each oral presentation,
  46. followed by five minutes for questions.  Two best-paper awards will be
  47. presented after the workshop - one for the best paper overall and one for
  48. the best paper presented by a student.

  53. Registration fees are R200, including the proceedings and the conference
  54. dinner.  Full-time students can register at a special rate of R50 that will
  55. not include the conference dinner or the proceedings.  The official travel
  56. agent for the workshop is Toeropa (address below).  They will supply any
  57. travel arrangements and accommodation in Pretoria.  Accommodation is
  58. available in the student dorms at R37 per night (bed and breakfast).
  59. To register, please complete the attached tear-off slip, and send it along
  60. with the registration fee to Liesbeth Botha (address below).  An advance
  61. programme will be mailed to those that register by 26 October 1992.
