- Both the Info-Nets list and the comp.mail.misc newsgroup have had recent
- discussions of problems with mail to the .su domain, the gist of it
- being that mail was being bounced by the nac.no mail exchanger as "host
- unknown". Apparently name servers were slow to recognize that nac.no
- was no longer a gateway. As of last week the situation seemed to have
- resolved itself; mail was again flowing smoothly.
-
- However, I'm not sure that would answer your question. I can find no
- record of an .sk.su domain. I can find,
-
- .irkutsk.su
- .khabarovsk.su
- .krasnoyarsk.su
- .msk.su Moskva
- .nsk.su Novosibirsk
- .obninsk.su
- .simbirsk.su
- .tomsk.su
- .troitsk.su
-
- And also
-
- .minsk.by
- .dnepropetrovsk.ua
-
- So I wonder whether your user has somehow garbled the original workable
- address. If so, I suggest trying it again with corrections. If it
- still fails, a copy of the bounce message, including _all_ headers and
- error messages, i.e., omitting only the text of the original attempt,
- would probably make it easier to recommend something.
-
- On the other hand, if you are convinced that @femida.sk.su was once a
- valid address, then your best source for assistance is probably
-
- postmaster@hq.demos.su
