- You can get softcopy pubs on either tape or CD ROM. I not familiar
- with the tape version but I believe it is oriented toward loading
- the pubs to DASD and using Bookmanager/Read on the host to view docs.
-
- We have started using the CD ROM version (host based Softcopy pubs
- can't help you if your system is down). The CD drives are located off
- of our Novell Lan Server and using Bookmanager Read for Dos from both
- Dos and Windows to access the pubs.
-
- My understanding is that the CD ROM is a no charge feature and
- the next time your data center has products ordered, have the SE
- also select the CD ROM softcopy pub option. Some products will
- list the CD softcopy option as a selectable item and other
- products do not list it. All the CDs start with IBM manual
- number SK. Your SE should be able to get a list of all products
- on CD ROM.
-
- Just to give you an idea, I will list the 4 CDs we have received.
- 1) MVS Base collection kit (SK2T-0710-00)
- JES2 & 3 - V3 & V4, DFP V3.3, Ditto V2, DFDSS V2.5,
- DFHSM V2.6, DFSORT R11.1, EREP V3.5, ICKDSF R14, ICSF V1.1,
- Info/Mgmt V5, Process Serv R1, RACF R9, REXX/370 Comp & Lib,
- SAA Delivery Mgmr V1.2, SDSF V3, SMP/E R6, TSO/E V2,
- IBM 9340 DASD Subsystem
-
- 2) IBM Networking Systems collection kit (SK2T-6012-00)
- AIX Netview/6000 V1, NCP V5.5; SSP V3.6; EP R9; and VSE,
- Netview V2.2, Netveiw DM R3, Netview PM R5.1, NRF R6, NTO R7,
- TCP/IP for DOS, OS/2, VM, MVS, VTAM V3.4, 3.4.1, TPNS V3.2,

-
- 3) SQL/DS for VM V3.3 (SK2T-1155-00)
-
- 4) QMF V3.1.1 (SK2T-1228-00)
-
- We also had a DFP only CD but it has become obsolete as a result of
- entry 1. It looks like IBM is moving towards pubs collection kits to
- reduce the number of CD ROM drives required to keep all the pubs online.
- (Something we appreciate).
