- I don't know which versions of VTAM are on the HESC but I wanted to
- help clear something up. There are two flavors of VTAM for VM,
- VTAM/SP and VTAM/ESA. As far as I can tell, each uses the same version
- and release numbers, but they have different product numbers. IBM is
- always getting them mixed up. We run VTAM/SP 3.3 on VM/ESA 1.0 ESA feature.
- Whenever we order service, I always end up with PTF's for VTAM/ESA, not
- VTAM/SP. Somebody seems to assume that since we are running VM/ESA, that
- we must have VTAM/ESA. Its not necessary, however, unless you want to
- run above the 16M line and in XA mode.
