- Here is some information on a special education conference that is to be
- held in conjunction with the Florida Educational Technology Conference in
- early February of 1993 in Tampa.

- * * * * * * * * * * * * PRESS RELEASE * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

- The Second Annual Florida Adaptive Technology Impact Conference (FATIC)
- will be held on February 1-2, 1993 in conjunction with the Florida
- Educational Technology Conference (FETC) at the Tampa Convention Center in
- Tampa, Florida. The FATIC '93 Conference will focus on the latest uses of
- adaptive and assistive technology in curriculum integration and vocational
- transition.

- FATIC '93 will expand its presentations to include sensory impairments,
- physical impairments, mental impairments, speech and language impairments,
- specific learning disabilities, emotional impairments, at risk children,
- and vocational rehabilitation. Because of the overwhelming interest in
- FATIC '92, the Conference Committee is planning for an increase in the
- number of participants from 450 to over 1,000. FATIC '93 will include an
- expanded information fair and a hands-on lab for participants to experience
- the latest in adaptive and assistive hardware and software.
