  24. I'd like to comment on these indicators of abuse.  I aprreciate your
  25. efforts, and I'm sure they are helping children in danger right now.
  26. However, may I ask that before you call children's services on a
  27. 'suspect' parent, please PLEASE get both sides of the story.  Three
  28. times my parents were harassed by children's services because someone
  29. accused them of neglect without getting the whole picture.  Now, I'm
  30. 16... but let me tell you, we were HARASSED.  Many social workers, upon
  31. enetering a suspect home, automatically assume that there are terrible
  32. things going on when there are not.  Children's Services rarely knows
  33. what they are doing, and it can break up a family more than bind it
  34. together.  They invade privacy and break several constitutional rights
  35. with no proof that anything is going on, so they harass and harass and
  36. harass until they get what they think is right, when often it is not.
