- LI>As Promised, Here are More "Indicators of Abuse" : This follows an earlier
- LI>posting which listed indicators of neglect and sexual abuse.

- Hello Linda and All...
-
- I'd like to comment on these indicators of abuse. I aprreciate your
- efforts, and I'm sure they are helping children in danger right now.
- However, may I ask that before you call children's services on a
- 'suspect' parent, please PLEASE get both sides of the story. Three
- times my parents were harassed by children's services because someone
- accused them of neglect without getting the whole picture. Now, I'm
- 16... but let me tell you, we were HARASSED. Many social workers, upon
- enetering a suspect home, automatically assume that there are terrible
- things going on when there are not. Children's Services rarely knows
- what they are doing, and it can break up a family more than bind it
- together. They invade privacy and break several constitutional rights
- with no proof that anything is going on, so they harass and harass and
- harass until they get what they think is right, when often it is not.
