- NEW FEATURES IN CORELSCSI VERSION 1.1
- =====================================
-
- CorelSCSI version 1.1 supports up to seven drives with one copy
- of the device driver. This release of CorelSCSI also includes
- support for the MaxOptix Tahiti IIM (multi-function), HP C1716C,
- and Iomega floptical drives.
-
-
- CARTRIDGE FORMATS
- -----------------
-
- CorelSCSI uses the floppy format on formatted cartridges. However,
- CorelSCSI version 1.1 also supports cartridges that have been
- formatted like hard disks by other software vendors; for example,
- Adaptec, Sony, Iomega, and SyQuest.
-
- If a cartridge uses a hard disk format, CorelSCSI automatically
- recognizes the first partition. However, you must identify each
- additional partition in the optical drive device driver using
- the following syntax:
-
- /ID:{ID#};{LUN#};{Reserved};{HAN#};{Partition#}
-
- Note: You must include the semicolons even if you don't specify
- a parameter value. The default value of 0 is used.
-
- For example, assume that you have a cartridge with two Adaptec
- partitions and you want to access the second partition. The
- SCSI ID of the drive is set to 3. You would modify the
- UNI_ASP.SYS device line /ID parameters in the CONFIG.SYS file
- to include the following:
-
- /ID:3;;;;+3;;;;1
-
-
- NEW UTILITIES
- -------------
-
- CorelSCSI version 1.1 includes several new utilities that you
- can use to manage your drives. These utilities are briefly described
- in this section. For more information about these utilities, see the
- README file, "README.UTI".
-
- ASPICD.EXE -- lets you start, stop, and resume audio playback
- on SCSI-2 compatible CD-ROM drives. ASPICD.EXE bypasses both
- CorelCDX or MSCDEX and the CD-ROM device driver and talks
- directly to the ASPI manager.
-
-
- CDOFF.EXE -- recovers drive letters that are no longer used when
- you remove CD-ROM extensions (CorelCDX or MSCDEX) from
- memory. CDOFF.EXE frees the drive letters for use when CD-ROM
- extensions are re-loaded.
-
- CDVOL.EXE -- lets you adjust the volume level on a SCSI-2
- compatible CD-ROM drive by talking directly to the ASPI manager.
-
- DRVCD.EXE -- lets you start, stop, and resume audio playback
- on a CD-ROM drive. DRVCD.EXE bypasses CorelCDX or MSCDEX and
- talks directly to the CD-ROM device driver.
-
- DRVVOL.EXE -- adjusts the volume level on a CD-ROM
- drive by talking directly to the CD-ROM device driver.
-
- CORELCDX.COM -- provided by Corel to emulate MSCDEX
- version 2.20. For more information about CorelCDX, read the
- README file "CORELCDX.TXT" before installing CorelSCSI.
