<p class="Paragraph">If you do not see the toolbar to be edited, close the <span class="T1">AutoFit</span> dialog, load a document or open an empty document in which you can see the toolbar, and then access the <span class="T1">AutoFit</span> dialog again.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Here you will see the names of all default toolbars (depending on the document type) in the current program. By marking or un-marking the respective check boxes you specify which bars should be displayed and which should not.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph">All OpenOffice.org toolbars display context menus. Those shown on the <span class="T1">Toolbars</span> tab (function, object, tool, database bars, etc.) feature an easy-to-use context menu. In addition to all active bars, several configuration options are available. The <span class="T1">AutoFit</span> dialog displays the active tab. The <span class="T1">Configure</span> command displays the <help:link Id="65862" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Configure Toolbars</help:link> dialog. You can also display it via <span class="T1">View - Toolbars - Configure</span>. The best way to use toolbars is with <span class="T1">visible buttons</span>. A list shows all the icons on the bar, specifying whether they are visible or hidden. Visible icons are identified by a check mark. Click an icon in the list to make it visible or hidden on the toolbar. With a few simple clicks, you can format the bar according to your needs. You do not have to use the longer method of <help:link Id="65796" Eid="bearbeiten" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">menus</help:link> on the menu bar.</p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Here you can select among the<span class="T1"> Icon</span>, <span class="T1">Text</span> and<span class="T1"> Icon & Text</span> toolbars view.</help:help-text> You are able to determine your own settings for each toolbar. Mark the desired toolbar from the <span class="T1">Toolbars </span>list and select the desired view in the <span class="T1">Contents </span>field.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This field indicates in which program situation is the respective toolbar visible.</help:help-text> With self defined symbols, you have the possibility to modify the toolbar's visibility otherwise the field will be inaccessible. For example, if you choose as visibility "Table", then the new toolbar will only appear when the cursor is in a table.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"> Here you can create custom toolbars.</help:help-text> In the <span class="T1">Visibility </span>list box you can define when should the new toolbar be visible.</p>

Before clicking <span class="T1">Customize...</span> check all toolbars which you want to use. Then, click<span class="T1"> Customize...</span> to access the<span class="T1"> Customize Toolbars</span> dialog. Now you can freely position with Drag&Drop the icons from the icon window and remove or move the already positioned ones. Some icons do not have any graphic display. If you click the<span class="T1"> Icons...</span> button you will access the <span class="T1">Customize Buttons</span> dialog which enables you to search and assign an icon.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This button resets all modifications made under the <span class="T1">Toolbars </span>page in the selected bar.</help:help-text></p>

<p class="Paragraph">If you have changed the toolbars and you click Reset, all changes in the toolbar will be immediately and irrevocably reversed.</p>
