- SPECIAL NOTE:
- ------------
- If you were using another conversion program prior to running MAKE_SYS, you
- may need to do some editing in the door data files. Some of the other
- conversion programs do not convert the user name and password fields to upper
- case as they are supposed to. MAKE_SYS does. To complicate things more, some
- door programs take these entries at 'face value', meaning they use the EXACT
- data in these fields (upper and lower case are considered 'different').
-
- If you run into a problem using a door after installing MAKE_SYS, like for
- instance it starts treating you and/or your callers as 'new users', you will
- need to edit the user names in the data file to convert them to upper case.
- If the door program has an editor (as many do), you can use this. If there is
- no editor, or the editor does not allow you to change the user name, you will
- need to use a disk zapper to edit the file direct on the disk. Norton
- Utilities is an example of this kind of utility. A shareware program called
- ZIPZAP is another. One of the door programs that considers upper and lower
- case as 'different' is the all-popular Trade Wars (at least my copy does).
-
- Sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing, but in most cases, it's all
- for the better.
