- I can comment on the compression and the archive format. You will probably want
- an unbiased source for other information.

- A separate uncompressed table of contents is maintained. For each file it
- contains a name, permissions, byte offset, CRC number, compression method, a
- possible floppy number, and if compression state was reset.

- This allows single files to be extracted without having to uncompress the
- entire archive which may stretch over multiple floppies.

- Different compression methods are used depending on the file type and the
- requested speed. The files are sorted by type in the archive to increase the
- compression ratio. During compression the compression state is reset whenever
- the compression method changes or a certain number of bytes have passed.

- There is no support for adding files to an existing archive. Currently there
- are no command line utilities.
